Designer and engraver Charles Vickers' engraving of the Thomas Jefferson First Spouse gold coin reverse design is basically true to the artist rendering, with the only real change being the difference in a two-dimensional view versus the three-dimensional view of the actual coin. However, I think this design is awful from the conceptual standpoint. Vickers' work is fine; what I object to is putting Jefferon's tombstone on his First Spouse coin! Couldn't they do any better than that?! (Well, maybe not. We're going to get Miss Liberty several times over in this series, for lack of inspiration on the part of Congress.)
