The Abigail Adams Gold Coin (Reverse) in the Presidential First Spouse Series

Abigail Adams looks so different on the reverse on her coin that one almost wonders if it's the same woman! She looks young and pretty, and there are no signs of the cruelly arched eyebrows seen on the her obverse portrait. Phebe Hemphill, the engraver, stayed fairly true to designer Thomas Cleveland's art, but I have one small complaint. The way Abigail is staring into space while apparently writing is reminiscent of Helen Keller! Perhaps Abigail could have been depicted with the quill lifted a bit (or without the spacey stare.)
