Mint Error News Magazine is a free magazine about error coins, which is published quarterly on the Web by Mike Byers. The magazine, which has run to more than 200 pages in recent issues, is cram-packed full of photos and information about all kinds of mint errors. A typical issue of Mint Error News features a cover story about a major new discovery that Byers has made. Byers is credited with an amazing number of major discoveries, and has probably brought more major error coins to market than anybody in the business, although Fred Weinberg might be pretty close!)

Error Coin Prices in Mint Error News

One of the most popular features of Mint Error News is the error coin price charts that are complied by Al Levy. These price charts have the only regularly-published and frequently-updated error coin prices that I know of, and they are certainly the only thing of its kind for free! Levy lists the selling prices for a goodly variety of error coin types, ranging from Presidential Dollar errors and State Quarter errors, to the generic error types such as off-center coins and double-strikes.

Mint Error News Articles and Photos

Mint Error News is always loaded with plenty of eye candy for the error coin junkie. There are usually a couple of articles about topics related to error coins, and then sections of photos that include errors of every imaginable type. World coins are covered, too, although the majority of the content is related to U.S. error coins. A goodly number of the photos are in the advertisements, but when it comes to error coins, who cares whether the coin is for sale or not? Just looking at the photos of all the bizarre things that can happen to a coin while it is being struck is fun. Mint Error News frequently wraps up with a nostalgic feature, where an error coin catalog from the 60's or 70's is reproduced, providing a fascinating look at how prices and terminology has changed over the years.

I honestly can't recommend Mint Error News highly enough! The magazine is educational and informative, loaded with photos, and best of all, it's FREE. You can download your free copy (and the back issues, too) at the Mint Error News Web site.
