This is the reverse side of the planchet seen on the previous page. Like its other side, this face also shows the same kind of pre-strike damage from contact with other planchets and other possible mishaps prior to its being struck. Most unstruck planchets that escape the Mint show similar damage, although perhaps not quite this bad.
