Shawn Bell reported this specimen to me on August 22, 2007, barely a week after the coins were officially released to the public. Normally, this would be pretty fast for folks to be finding new doubled dies, since it takes a combination of effort and luck to find these elusive coins. However, as variety coin expert Ken Potter reports, Ohio collector Chuck Chichinski was a little bit faster this time! Chuck found his specimen on the day the coins were released, August 16, 2007.
