It seems that we might be finding this type of reverse doubling throughout the Presidential Dollar series, if Shawn Bell's discovery of this Adams Presidential Dollar Doubled Die Reverse is any indication. Shawn first reported this doubled die to me on July 20, 2007, but didn't want to go public with it until John Wexler had confirmed it. Although this looks like a "no brainer" next to the George Washington Doubled Die Reverses on the previous pages in this image gallery, I appreciate Shawn's extreme caution and wish that everyone would be so careful in their proclamations about these things! One just has to go look at the Error Coins category at eBay to see many examples of the sorts of spurious declarations I am referring to. Buying on eBay is a huge risk if you don't know your seller is honest, careful, and knowledgeable about attributing errors and varieties.
