Collector Mendy Copley found this amazing John Adams Proof Presidential Dollar error coin. The obverse, which can be seen on the previous page, appears to be off-center by a fair amount, certainly way more than is acceptable for a Proof coin. The reverse of this Adams Dollar also seems off center a little bit, but not as off-center as the obverse. NGC examined the coin and found it to have a horizontal planchet error, which I believe is the result of being struck on an elliptical coin blank. Additionally, the coin has a very high finned rim, which is also pretty rare on a Proof coin since they're so carefully struck. You can see the highest portion of the wire rim on the left side of the next photo.
