The U.S. Mint booth is quite a bit more populated in this image, taken in Friday, Aug. 10th. The Director of the U.S. Mint, Ed Moy, can be seen near the center, looking down at his notes while he gives the introductory speech before the unveiling of the 22 karat gold Sacagawea Dollars. (Moy's head is right near the circle on the flag background. He is not the man standing to the left wearing the green striped tie.) The big white thing sort of sticking out near the left center is the Sacagawea 22 Karat Space Dollars display. It has been covered with a white tablecloth to add drama to the unveiling.
Moy kept his comments fairly brief. The event began at 11:30 am, and the time my camera recorded for the first "unveiled" photo was 11:38.
