Wildwinds is one of those sites that you have to see to believe. Site owner Dave Surber has been collecting online auction and sales records for ancient Roman, Greek, and Byzantine coins for nearly a decade now, and has them all, photographs included, available in a massive online database for the ancient coins enthusiast. Although others have put worthwhile ancient coins references online (notably Rasiel Suarez and his DirtyOldCoins.com,) nobody approaches the scope of historical sales data and attribution information that is available for free for ancient coins at Wildwinds.com. Surber recently added ancient Celtic and English Hammered coins to the database as well.
