50 State Quarters, District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Roll Values
How Much Are My 50 State Quarters Uncirculated Rolls Worth?
By James Bucki, About.com Guide
This coin value guide will give you an idea of how much your 50 State Quarters, District of Columbia and U.S. Territories rolls of uncirculated coins are worth. These coins were minted between 1999 and 2009. The table listed below provides coin values for rolls of 40 uncirculated coins with a face value of $10.00 USD. If the coin shows evidence of wear on it due to being used in commerce, it is considered "circulated." If it was never used, then it is classified as "uncirculated." Please reference the pictures below to see examples of each condition. Caution: you cannot increase a coin's value by cleaning it. In fact, cleaned coins are worth considerable less and coin dealers can spot a cleaned coin immediately. Therefore, never clean your coins.
Introduction to Coin Values
There are many factors that go into determining the value of your coins. First of all you must understand how the coin market works. If a coin dealer runs out of rolls of 1999 Delaware State Quarters, he cannot just call the mint and order more of them because the mint does not make coins dated 1999 anymore. The coin dealer must replenish his supply of quarter rolls by buying coins from other dealers or people off the street. What he pays you for that coin is known as the "wholesale price" or "value." If you want to buy that roll of 1999 Delaware State Quarter from the coin dealer, that is known as the "retail price" or "price."
Market Analysis
The 50 State Quarters, District of Columbia and U.S. Territories quarters were produced by the hundreds of millions. Additionally, the mint estimated that over 100 million people collected them. Therefore, many people saved uncirculated examples of them. If you want top dollar for your 50 State Quarters, District of Columbia and U.S. Territories quarter rolls, you need to sort them and organize them so the dealer can quickly see what you have.

Mint Marks
State Quarters were produced at three different mints: Philadelphia (P), Denver (D) and San Francisco (S). The San Francisco mint only produced proof coins. As illustrated in the picture below, the mint mark is located on the obverse side of the coin to the right of George Washington's ponytail and below the motto "In God We Trust".
