Vote for Coin of the Year

Saturday November 22, 2008

The Coin of the Year (COTY) award has been a prestigious accolade for any world mint to win for more than two decades now, but last year a new element was introduced to the competition: the People's Choice COTY. A panel of minting experts, medallic sculptors, and world mint executives nominate the roster of coins from which the People's Choice award will be elected. Coin collectors from around the world can vote for their favorite coin between now and Jan. 4, 2009. Last year's People's Choice COTY election drew more than 100,000 votes, with Hungary coming out on top for its commemorative of the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution. Which coin will win this year? Go check out the list of nominations and cast your ballot now, before you forget!
