State Quarters Quiz
The U.S. Mint's ground-breaking 50 State Quarters Program® comes to an end with the issuance of the Hawaii Quarter, which has been on sale at banks nationwide since last week. Today, the Mint is hosting an official launch event in Honolulu for the Hawaii coin, so I thought it would be a good time to put up a quiz celebrating the end of State Quarters Program. This quiz, called the State Quarters Quiz Challenge, tests your ability to recall which state each Quarter represents. I used a photo-editing program to erase the name of the state on each coin. Can you tell which state each coin is from, without the state name to help you? It's tougher than you think!

I would have taken the 50 state quarter quize. The messege read, sorry you must have java script on your browser in order to take the quize. I’m not equiped with java. So that leaves me out.
Since i’m here already. I do have a question that i would like an expert opinion on. I found searching my statehood quarters, a 1999 new jersey statehood. Peruseing the obverse, i noticed that the AM in america are seperated more on this quarter, than on other statehood quarters. The rest look like they are very close together, touching, or just barely touching between the A & the M, in the legend. Would this be a new type of unknown variety? Akin to the close AM on the 92 pennys. Or the wide
A M found on the 99, 00, and some later versions of the penny. Lookng at a few other statehood quarters, as on the 03 series, there is a slight break in the distance between the A & the M. So far it seems that all 03 quarters display this little anomoly. Other year statehoods display the A & the M touching at the bottom. A curiosity to say the least. I’ve read nothing to the contrary, or any mention of an error being discoverd of this type. Any one have any ideas about this?
thank you!

Coiny, my friend, you really ought to get out of the Jurassic Era and upgrade that old WebTV you have.
As for the Quarters, it’
s possible they used a slightly modified obverse hub for 2003; I’ll check into this and get back to you. If other readers have information about this, by all means, please share! =)

Thank you Sue! Actually it’s the 99 Jersey quarter, that has a larger space between the letters in America. Looking at what i had on hand. I did notice there was also a difference between the spaceing on the 03’s i was useing for comparison. So that was spoted by accident, which is a lucky break, if it turns out there are variations on the statehood quarters.
I know i should come out of the dark ages, i got comfy in here. Hard to teach an old dawg, new tricks!
