John Quincy Adams Presidential Dollar is Released
Friday May 16, 2008
The John Quincy Adams Presidential Dollar was officially released into circulation yesterday (Thurs. May 15, 2008.) The "Q Adams Dollar" (as collectors are calling it, to distinguish it from his dad's coin, the "Adams Dollar") is the sixth in the Presidential Dollars series, and the second to be issued this year. John Q was President for one term, from 1825 to 1829, as noted in the inscription on the obverse (heads side.) The coin was designed and engraved by U.S. Mint Sculptor-Engraver Don Everhart, who also designed and engraved the Statue of Liberty Reverse which appears on all Presidential Dollar coins.Stay informed when new coins are released, when new major error coins are discovered, or when important news happens regarding coins.
