Error Coin Collectors Unite! Join CONECA
Thursday November 30, 2006
Collecting error coins is more popular than ever, now that we're finding extra leaves on the Wisconsin state quarters, and extra trees on the Minnesota and Oregon coins. There are doubled die pennies worth hundreds, even thousands of dollars being found in circulation right now, including the 1972 and 1995 doubled die cents. My article about the Top 10 Most Valuable Coins Found in Pocket Change is consistently one of the most popular on my Coins site. That's why I wanted to tell you about a coin collectors' club devoted exclusively to error coins and die varieties: CONECA.CONECA stands for the Combined Organizations of Numismatic Error Collectors of America, and it has a long and distinguished track record of service to the error-varieties (EV) coin collecting hobby. They publish a magazine called Errorscope, they maintain a Web site with comprehensive Variety Master Listings for nearly all 20th Century coin types, but best of all, member and CONECA Webmaster Ken Potter maintains a blog on the CONECA home page depicting the latest error coin finds and news relating to the EV hobby. Learn more about the club especially for error and variety coin collectors, as well as find links to their resources and information about how to join in CONECA - The Club for Error Coin Collectors.
